Thomas Omwenga three times lucky in 2010 BMO Vancouver Marathon

Vancouver, B.C. - IMPACT Magazine was proud to sponsor a special award for the top Canadian male and female marathon finisher at the BMO Vancouver Marathon on May 2. Jason Loutitt of Squamish, B.C., finished second in the marathon in a time 2:25:47 and Sharleen Jackson of Prince George, B.C., placed second in the women's division, with a time of 2:50:13. Each received a prize of $750 from IMPACT Magazine.

Thomas Omwenga of Tampa, Fl., formerly from Kenya, finished in first place with a time of 2:16:55. He also won in 2008 and 2007.

In first place for the women was another Kenyan, Emmah Muthoni, with a time of 2:37:17.

There were 14,175 runners and walkers in the marathon, 21.1 km half-marathon, 8 km and McDonald's Kids MaraFun races, representing 38 countries.

The BMO Vancouver Marathon has a scenic marathon route, taking participants through Vancouver's famous Stanley Park, False Creek, over the Burrard Street Bridge, and into the Kitsilano and Point Grey neighbourhoods.
