Following the unprecedented success of the Tri-It Canmore "paved" Triathlon, Race Director Tony Smith will be presenting the XTERRA Off-Road Triathlon & Duathlon.
The one-kilometre swim will take place at the pristine Quarry Lake. Athletes will then transition to mountain bikes and hit the trails to Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park. After entering the park riders will continue on a loop course for twenty-five kilometres before entering the stadium for transition to a seven-kilometre trail run. An Olympic stadium finish will greet competitors at the conclusion of the run.
A Duathlon will also be offered starting with a three-kilometre trail run. Duathletes will then join the triathletes on the same bike and run courses.
This weekend's event is currently sold out with three hundred competitors. Visit the event Web site and make plans for next year.
